New Karolinska Hospital

To meet the health care demands of the future, a brand new university hospital is being built in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

AFRY is working alongside the construction company Skanska, in the New Karolinska Solna project, a new state-of-the-art facility for the Karolinska University Hospital with minimal environmental impact and a focus on increased patient safety.

AFRY is in charge of electrical energy and HVAC; that is, heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions. The assignment incorporates general design, production of program documents, detailed design, operations and maintenance instructions and cost calculations.

All indoor and exterior lighting has also been designed by AFRY, with the health and well-being of patients and staff in mind.

The first few clinics in new hospital have opened, and the remainder will be inaugurated in 2017.
