257 MWp Solar Power Plant in Hoa Hoi, Phu Yen Province, Vietnam
One of the largest single operating solar power plants in Vietnam and in Southeast Asia
AFRY was engaged as Owner’s Engineer for the 257 MWp Hoa Hoi Solar Power Plant project in 2018 and was responsible for the engineering review, project management, procurement monitoring, construction and commissioning supervision. Phu Yen TTP Joint Stock Company, affiliated company of B.Grimm Power Limited, developed and operates the power plant.
The project was implemented based on two turnkey packages: one package to cover the complete solar PV plant with a single Solar EPC Contractor, and a second package to cover the terminal substation with a single Substation EPC Contractor.
The power plant delivers electricity to Quang Ngai and Nha Trang cities, as well as to the surrounding areas in the region. This milestone project contributes to the fight against climate change by building climate and disaster resilience and enhancing environmental sustainability, in addition to addressing and reducing social economical inequality.

Details of the project
The Hoa Hoi Solar Power Plant consists of 380 Wp mono crystal silicon modules and central inverters with a rated power of 5000/6800 kW and a rated voltage of 1500 V. It is connected to the power transmission system via the electrical substation TBA 220 kV DMT Hoa Hoi. The substation has a total capacity of 2 x 125 MVA and is designed with 2 busbar diagrams, communication cutters and circle busbars.
Project duration: 2018 – 2020
Project location: Hoa Hoi commune, Phu Yen Province, Vietnam
